Ellis, David, son of Morris and Susannah Ellis, was born March 1, 1782 and died Oct. 2, 1852, in Mahaska County, Iowa. he first married Nancy Hedrick, daughter of Nicholas and Jane Hedrick, Feb. 27, 1823. David re-married to Sarah Jane Farmer, daughter of John and Frances (Seaton) Farmer, Oct. 2, 1828. Sarah J. was born Feb. 10, 1805 and died April 23, 1873, at Walla Walla, Washington.
