John James P. JOHNSON

John James P Johnson was born 17 December 1845 in Jackson County, Ohio the seventh child of William and Anna _______ Johnson.  He died on 21 April 1926 at his residence Spring Street, Sciotoville, Scioto, Ohio. He married Jullieta Moore, daughter of  Jackson Moore and Martha Freeman, born 6 November 1849 in New Boston, Scioto County, Ohio. Julietta Johnson died 13 July 1930  at the home of her son Arthur Johnson, 1035 Stedman Ave., Sciotoville, Scioto County, Ohio.

   The family of Anna and William Johnson lived in Scioto Township, Jackson County at the time of the 19 September 1850 U.S.  Census. At this latter date, the Census listed James P. Johnson, age 15 as engaged in farming, as was his 20 year old brother  William, and his widowed mother, Anna. The farm was listed as valued at $1,000.00 and personnal property at $200.00

  Julietta and James P. Johnson lived in Porter Township, Scioto County Post Office address Sciotoville, Ohio during the U.  S. Census taken on the 3rd of June 1880. The children listed were:

married: Henry William Bradford, (8 children)
     3) Mattie A. born: 1874
               married: Rodney O. Brady res. 1318 Summit St., operated grocery there.

     5) Noah D. born: 1878


Henry Cole BRADFORD

Bradford Henry Cole. Henry Cole Bradford was born 27 September 1838 at Friendship, Scioto County, Ohio, son of Lyttleton  Bradford and Abigail Samson. He spent his boyhood at Friendship and received a common school education. At the age of 21 he  began teaching school in Scioto County, Ohio which he continued for 20 years. He was married 2 December 1863 to Miss Sarah  Elizabeth Felton, daughter of Tadius "Thaddeus" Fenton & Nancy Bennett, Wheelersburg, Scioto County, Ohio. Sarah was born 1  January 1846. Her mother was Nancy Bennett.

    Children of Henry Cole and Sarah Elizabeth Bradford were:

    Henry Cole Bradford was postmaster at Friendship, Ohio for five years. He was a member of the Swedenburg Church. He and  his family moved west in 1869 where he taught school until 1872 when he returned to Ohio. He then purchased twenty acres of  land four miles from Portsmouth on the Valley Pike where he established a Fruit Farm the Rosemont Road Area. he died 23  February 1918 and his wife died 12 March 1918 both are buried in the Rosemont Cemetery in Clay Township, Scioto County, Ohio.
