Lewis Valentine HOLYFIELD

Volunteered 10 Aug 1861 at Dobson when he was 44 in a local group orgainezed by David M Cooper and Lacy J Norman.  He was taken prisoner  8 Feb 1862.  he received a discharge because of overage and he was not a conscript 10 Dec 1862.  pvt. CO B 2nd Battalion, NC


James ROBERTS

34 ii. James Roberts (7099) was born between 1822 and 1823 in Patrick County, Virginia.  He married Mary Ann Rice (7100) on 19 Feb 1846 in Lewis County, Missouri.

Joined CSA with his brother jeremiah 16 Oct 1863.  CO E 53 REG NC


Edmund BULLEN, (IN)

Was part of the first Surry volunteer group to enlist at Dobson on 4-5 May 1861 and the first group to leave the county for training camp.  He was present until Jan or Feb 1863 when he was said to be in hospital.
