Sheridan, Wyoming, High School. Lived successively in Marion, Zanesville and Columbus, Ohio, where Mr. Paddock had a large automobile business that covered half of Ohio and part of West Virginia. From there they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, then to Los Angeles, California. Later to San Mateo, California where Mr. Paddock is a building contractor.

Lived in Greeley, Colorado before moving on to California. Howard Lewis Guthrie tells us that they lived in an area near Greely, Colorado called the 'Dry Lands' where they farmed for a number of years.
