Andrew KINCANNON

fought in the Rev. War in the Battle of Kings Mountain for which he received several grants of land in VA, TN, KY, and NC.  In 1792 , he moved to the Toms Creek area of Surry Co. where he owned 3, 156 acres of land received from the State of NC to enable him to found an iron industry for the state.  He also bought land from John Dunnagan on both sides of Toms Creek.  By 1795, he had the bloomery forge in operation.  He was the founder of the iron industry.


Margaret ROSS

story is that margaret was a beautiful Indian maiden, daughter of John Ross.
