Solomon STANLEY

Volunteered 13 May 1861 at Surry in the first group to organize and leve the county for the Civil War.  He made Sargeant 10 Apr 1862 and died five months later 9 Sep 1862 in a Richmond hospital of jaunice.  He was the 3rd son of Jesse and Sally to serve in the Civil War.  Sgt. Co A 28 Reg NC
