Ralph E. HANNAH

The Ralph E. Hannah farm, the Augustus Posey Berry farm, the Non Quincy Adams farm, and the Daniel Madison Berry farm are situated on three sides of the Wake Forest Baptist Church. The Berrys, the Adams, and the Hannahs, and those who married into these families formed the greater part of the membership of this church. At church and Sunday school, the majority of those in attendance were relatives; and at school, the majority of the students were cousins. This Wake Forest community is rich in tradition and still has an exceptionally tine quality of citizenship.

They and their children moved from Choctaw County, Mississippi, to Delta County, Texas, about 1895. Joel Franklin died at Slaton, Texas, on October 22, 1933; and his wife died shortly thereafter. Reverend Augustus Posey Berry and his wife Janie Hannah, acquired a portion of the Hannah land, and there their eleven children were born. Reverend Non Quincy Adams and his wife, and Ralph E. Hannah and his wife, Anna Livingston, acquired other portions of the Hannah land. On these lands which were
