Thomas Jefferson HULL

THOMAS JEFFERSON HULL-of Barton County Mo. son of William and Sarah (Martin)
Hull born Harrison Co. Virignia November 7, 1823, died March 20, 1898.
Thomas married Susanna Varner July 19,1846 Licking County Ohio, of this
marriage five children were born; Mary Frances Wood, Martha Josephine, Anthony
Wayne, William Pleasant, and Thomas Frank.
After the children were born they moved to Missouri where Thomas farmed and did
carpentry work. Thomas died a poor man and was buried in a Paupers Field.

HERBERT BENJAMIN HULL-of Carthage, Jasper County Mo. Born in Malta Bend, Barton
County Mo. November 10,1890, died August 7,1972 Carthage Mo. He married Bessie
Lewis Tiller November 8,1917 Girard Kansas. Bessie was the daughter of William
Clay Tiller and Alice Parlee Lewis formerly of Greene County Mo, then Jasper Co.Mo.
Herbert was a Blacksmith and a farmer. He was well known and liked by all.
Herbert did alot of work for the community people from his Blacksmith Shop, he
made all of his own tools.

Herbert and Bessie owned alot of different farms around the Jasper County area
for many years. Bessie's family also owned alot of land in Jasper County.
Herbie and Bessie were very religious, they were of the Baptist faith.
Herbie was in World War I, he went to France in 1917 and served there for
approximately one year, he built barracks for the soldiers.
Herbie and Bessie are buried In Hackney Cemetery Jasper Co. Mo. with several
other family members.

William Clay TILLER

William moved his family from Missouri to Nebraska in 1908, where they lived for 4 years.
William died of heart failure.


Alice Parlee LEWIS

Alice grew up near Springfield, and was married there. Moved to a farm NE of Carthage about 1900, returned to Springfield, then back to Carthage area in 1930. In 1930 Alice and son Fred purchased a farm near the BaseLine in Jasper County, Mo. and lived there until about 1945. She then moved to town 506 E. 5th. St.  Carthage, Mo.
Funeral services were conducted at Ulmer Funeral Home by Rev. L.G. Hardesty, pastor of the Church Of God.
