Homer Eager
Homer Eager, 72, of 309 South Main Street, died at his home early Friday evening following a long illness. He was born in Bryan, Dec. 17, 1900, the son of William Newton and Alta (Spicer) Eager and was a lifetime resident of the Bryan area.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a car salesman and a truck driver before retiring several years ago.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rachel Brannan; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Doris) Bruot; five grandchildren, and one great-grandson. he was preceded in death by one grandson, Allen Bruot in June 1965.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenisen Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Bennett, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenisen Funeral Home after 1:30 p.m. Monday.
The family prefers memorials to be made to the emphysema fund.

Rachel Eager
Lifelong Bryan resident Mrs. Rachel Eager, 76, who resided at 309 South Main St., died in Bryan Community Hospital shortly after arrival at noon Saturday.
The deceased had owned and operated a beauty shop here from 1940 to 1975.
She was born Nov. 1, 1903 in Williams County to Walter and Laura (Beck) Brannan, and was the widow of Homer Eager.
Her membership was with First Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Doris) Bruat, of Hamilton, Ind.; a brother, John Brannan, Sarasota, FLa.; a sister, Mrs. George (Effie) Bible, Montpilier; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Greenisen & Tilton Funeral Home, officiated by Lowell E Jackson, minister of First Chruch of Christ. Interment is to be in Fountain Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours began Monday afternoon in the funeral home, where the family is receiving friends until 4 o'clock and 7 to 9 o'clock in the evening. Preferred memorials are to charities of the donor's choice.
