Milo Quinn MOORE

Birth: May 23, 1899 Howard, Elk County, Kansas, USA
Death: Apr. 5, 1943 Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas, USA
Milo Quinn Moore, of Eureka age 42, was fatally injured Sunday when he fell in front of a tractor at the intersection of Main and Second Streets in Eureka. Mr. Moore was guilding a new tractor that was being pulled by another one driven by Cecil Thompson. As the tractor rounded the corner at First and Main, Mr. Moore lost his balance and fell; striking his head on the pavement. He did not regain counciousness after the accident and died the following day.Milo Quinn Moore, son of Allen and Linda Plunkett Moore, was born May 23, 1899, at Howard, Kansas, and departed this life April 5, at 10:45 a.m., at Eureka, Kansas at the age of 43 years, ten months and eighteen days. He was united in marriage to Opal Mae Satchell, March 23, 1929. To this union five children were born; Freda, Jean, Milo Loyd, David and Arlene of the home. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister. He grew to manhood in and around Piedmont, Kansas, on a farm and the last few years has made his home around Eureka. In early manhood he was united with the Congregational Church at Western Park near Piedmont, Kansas. He leaves to mourn, besides his wife and children, his father, Allen Moore, and one sister, Mrs. Alverta Murry; one nephew and four nieces and a host of relatives and friends. He has been a loving husband and father and will be sadly missed in the home. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Bert Sutton, was held brom the Baird Funeral Home here Wednesday. Allen Jacob MOORE

Death: Aug. 10, 1949 Latham Butler County Kansas, USA

This community recieved another shock last Thursday when word came that another of our pioneers, Mr. Allen J. Moore, had died suddenly of a heart attack at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Alverta Shutts, and husband of Latham, Kansas. Mr. Moore had came to this vicinity from Ohio with his parents while just a boy and had lived in or near Piedmont ever since until the death of his wife a few years ago, since which time he has lived with his daughter and granddaughters. He was past 83 years of age and a well respected citizen. Rev. Mitchell of Douglas preched the funeral sermon at the Christian church Saturday afternoon. Interment was in Piedmont cemetery with Hilyard Mortuary of Douglas in charge. A large crowd of relatives and friends were in attendence.

Six nephews were pall bearers.

Linda PUCKETT

Death: May 26, 1940 Cherryvale, Montgomery County Kansas, USA
Being rushed back to Cherryvale after becoming suddenly ill, Mrs. Linda Moore 69, wife of Allen Moore, Piedmont, died about 10:15 o'clock last night in a automobile, north of town on Highway U.S. 169. Accompanied by her three grandchildren Viola, Marie and Cecil richardson, and their friends, Billy Garner, Piedmont, Jack Chinn, Eureka, and Tommy Erwin,Severy. Mrs. Moore was enroute home after visiting her brothers M.Q. Plunkett and Frank Plunkett and sister, Mrs. Joe Hoss, since yesterday afternoon at Logan Park. Mrs. Moore became ill about the time the car, driven by young Farner, reached the Steinberger corner, three miles north of town. Garner turned the car around and sped back to the M.Q. Plunkett home, 213 East Fifth, but Mrs. Moore died before they arrived. Dr. Gasser gave the cause of death as an acute heart attack.
Mr, Moore, a retired farmer, his brother-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Hutton, Piedmont, and Mr. And Mrs. E.S. McNeal, Howard and children, Mrs. Lloyd Murrey, Latham, and Mile Moore, Eureka, arrived early this morning. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The was prepared by the Logan mortician and taken to Piedmont by a mortician from that city. Linda Pluckett was born February 16, 1871 near Ashland, Ill. and was 12 years old when her parents came to Kansas, settling on a farm near hers. She married Allen Moore at Independence May 7, 1895, and moved immediately to rural Piedmont. They retired and moved into town sevral years ago. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Milo Moore, Eureka, one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Murrey, Latham, two brothers M.Q.
