William Elisha PORTER

William married Mary Eliza Brownell who was a very beautiful woman, who also
was a very social person who gave many parties for her friends and children.
When they were married, william was also very dapper, a salesman for a
mercantile firm. They first lived on his farm south of McConnelsville, but
Mary did not like country life, so when Lucy their eldest child was six years
old, they returned to Malta, Morgan County, Ohio.
