Carol Edwin "C.E" Hibbs

Carol Edwin "C.E" Hibbs passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Oct. 5, 2009, at home, after a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer.
C.E. was born Feb. 3, 1944, at Caldwell, to Leland and Iverna Hibbs. His parents were missionaries and C.E. felt blessed to have been raised in LaPaz, Bolivia. He spent countless hours recounting for his family the many childhood adventures he experienced and how fascinated he was with the new discoveries he faced each day. He believed in people and the importance of accepting others without judgment. He believed in hard work and personal integrity and that his strong sense of commitment and ethics developed during his years spent in Bolivia.
C.E. returned to Idaho at the age of 16 to complete high school at Greenleaf Friends Academy. He moved to Newburg, Ore., where he attended George Fox College and discovered the thrill of flight. This began his life long love of airplanes and flying.
He married Joan Christensen and together they had three sons, Scott, Jeff and Chris.
In 1973, C.E. returned to Idaho to farm with his father Leland. In 1977, he started Carol's Flying Service and was a successful crop duster until May 1, 2006 when he was stricken with a stroke caused by the brain tumor.
In 1988, he married Fran Navarre-Comstock and his family grew to include sons Shane and Cody and daughter CeAnne. He had a deep affection for his six children, and their spouses, his 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Terry. Surviving him is his wife, Frani, his brother Ken and wife (Dezonne) of Greenleaf, their six children, Scott (Heather) of LaCenter, Wash., Jeff (Kristin) of Wilder, Chris (Marcy) of Caldwell, Shane Comstock (Kris) of Green River, Wyo., Cody Schuck of Seattle, Wash., and CeAnne Comstock-Cardinale (Chris) of Caldwell; 11 grandchildren, Taylor (Justine) Cardinale of Vicenza, Italy, Samantha Cardinale (Wes Williams) of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lexa and Morgan Comstock of Green River, Wyo., Taylor Williams and Emmet and Elias Hibbs of Wilder, Caleb and Ashley Hibbs of LaCenter, Wash., and Aliya and Brielle Hibbs of Caldwell; two great-grandchildren, Zaiden Comstock of Green River, Wyo., and Logan Cardinale of Vicenza, Italy and numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special thank-you to Guardian Hospice of Nampa and our love and gratitude to Lori, Ramona, Stephanie, Beth and Dr. Carolyn Rees.
