WESTON, Idaho – Charles Scott Hathcock, 41, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Preston, Idaho.

He was born April 23, 1959, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Francis Marvin and Joyce Louise Phillips Hathcock. He attended high school in Mesa, Ariz., where he was on the gymnastics team.

He served in the U.S. Army Reserves with a tour in Panama. He married Jenny Vlaanderen on Sept. 5, 1981, in Tempe, Ariz. They were later divorced. He married Monica Hunting on Sept. 27, 1996. They were recently divorced. He enjoyed the outdoors. He loved softball and riding motorcycles. He worked for LeGrande Johnson as a mechanic for the past seven years.

He is survived by his son and two daughters, David Hathcock, Danielle Hathcock and Krista Hathcock, all of Roy, Utah; by his parents, Francis Marvin and Joyce Hathcock, Franklin, Idaho; by four brothers and four sisters, Marvin Jr. (Vicky) Hathcock, Weston, Idaho, Ike (Diane) Hathcock, Mesa, Ariz., Lugene (David) Jensen, Franklin, Idaho, Dee (Dewey) Ray, Mesa, Ariz., Craig (Rhonda) Hathcock, Weston, Idaho, Clifford (Suzette) Hathcock, Gilbert, Ariz., Penny (George) Cooper, Franklin, Idaho; and Samantha Palffy, Apache Junction, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday in the Weston 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Glade Schvaneveldt conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Weston Cemetery.
