Freeman "Bill" Johnson

Freeman "Bill Johnson, Jr., 69, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999 due to complications of an accident at home.

He was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Provo, a son of Freeman William Johnson, Sr. and Venoy Elnora Radmall. He married Carrol J. Johnson on July 17, 1952, in the Manti LDS Temple. He attended Provo High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War From 1948 to 1952. He worked at Geneva Steel from the early 1950's until 1986, where he was known as "Bad Back."

Dad was an avid fisherman and golfer, and loved playing with the "Over the Hill Gang." He was also an expert craftsman.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carrol, and their children: Bill (Arlane) Johnson, Delta; Karl F. Johnson, Provo; Gary L. (Christine) Johnson, Springville; Keith B. (Rose) Johnson, Spanish Fork; Connie S. Wright, Provo; Allen B. (Shirleen) Johnson, Elko, Nev.; Michelle A. (Les) Johnson, Provo; brothers and sisters: Maxine (Oral) Sudweeks, Robert V. (Lila) Johnson, Virginia Josephine, Arthur D. (Frankie) Johnson, Richard S. Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his best buddy, Gus.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Rivergrove 3rd Ward Chapel at 450 N. 1200 West, Provo. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Provo at 85 E. 300 South, Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
