Jerry Dale Boren
    Jerry Dale Boren, 55, passed away March 24, 2000 at his home in Lapoint, Utah, after a long illness of cancer. Jerry was born September 14, 1944 in Montwell, Utah to Cecil Lee & Velma Smuin Boren. He married Joyce Chivers on June 8, 1962 in Vernal, Utah, they were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple.

    Jerry was owner of Double "J" Outfitters, His work was his love and he enjoyed being in the outdoors. He always had a good story to share. Jerry was a special person that touched everyone that he met. He had a very special and unique way with kids, being a very loving and caring person.
    He is survived by his wife Joyce Boren; daughters, Natalie (LeRoy) Lawson of Socorro, NM; Jeri Lynn (Scott) Adams of Neola,; Alishia (Shawn) Madsen of Salt Lake City; Misty (Daniel) Martin; Angela (Travis) Nielson all of Lapoint; 13 grandchildren; Father Cecil Lee Boren of Neola, brothers & sisters Gwena ( Neldon) Slaugh of Vernal; Kent ( Nita) Boren, of Vernal; Lonnie ( Lana Jean) Boren of Neola; LaRae (Dean) Bristol of Neola; Johnnie Boren of Neola; Jim ( Kelly) Boren of Vernal; Mike ( Renae) Boren of Salt Lake City; Ellen (Wayne) Watkins of Vernal; Lee Boren of Neola; In-laws Carl & Enid Mertz.
    Jerry was preceded in death by his Mother Velma Boren and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral Services will be Tuesday March 28, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lapoint LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. And one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park Vernal, Utah. Under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn

Funeral services for Jerry Dale Boren, born Sept. 14, 1944 and died March 24, 2000, were held Tuesday, March 28 in the Lapoint LDS Ward Chapel with John Allred conducting. Lonnie Boren, brother, offered the family prayer with prelude and postlude music played by Daun DeJournette. Jim Boren, brother, gave the invocation. Speakers were Dr. Buxton and Hal Mecham. The congregation sang đFamilies Can Be Together Forever;ø Kelly and Lindsey Boren sang đDaddy£s Hands;ø and Dorothy Luck and Daun De Journette, accompanied by Larain Mobly, sang đBeyond The Moon.ø Neldon Slaugh, brother-in-law, gave the benediction and Kent Boren, brother, dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Lonnie Boren, Jim Boren, Johnnie Boren, Kent Boren, Lee Boren and Mike Boren. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
