When he went to the site of what is nowPilot Mountain 50 years ago, there was not a single person residing thereand there were no buildings.  For the first five years after he went toPilot Mountain, Needham engaged in sawmilling and carpenter work.  Laterhe went into the retail grocery business and operated a barber shop intherear of his store.  He has been in business continually since then.  Inspite of his 75 years, Needham is still active and may be found about hisplace of business as usual.  He has been married twice and has two sonsand four daughters.  His oldest son is now a businesspartner."[Needham.FTW]
