Annie Belle "Aunt Belle" was married to Newt Pierce in Tenn. They had a son who died as a child. Belle moved to Texas after her husband died. She was married to Henry Nelson of Nelson Brothers Ready Mix a cement company in Dallas. They divorced and had no children.
For a time Belle lived in a trailer behind the home of her brother James in Carrollton Tx. She later lived near downtown Carrollton.

I have a photograph sent to me by Inis Dennis Watson of a family with members identified as Sula with Johnny Dennis (her brother) and members of her uncle Samuel Dibrell Dennis's family. Inis states that this photo was taken outside of a home in Tennessee.

Sulie lived in Tx. until her mother's death in 1898. She returned to Tenn. with her father and remained there.
The A. F. Dennis family bible was in possession of Inis Dennis Watson, widow of Clure Judson Dennis, son of A. F. Dennis. Pages were copied and sent to me in 1988. Aunt Inis stated that this bible had belonged to Thomas J. M. Dennis, father of Alfred. James H Dennis birth is recorded as November 23, 1895. James' birth entry is the last readable entry on the first page of births that began with his grandfather Thomas J. M. Dennis.
A discharge certificate in lieu of lost or destroyed certificate was issued the ninth of September 1931 and a certificate of birth issued January 12, 1942 in Dallas County, Texas for James Hollis Dennis indicating his birth date of November 23, 1895 in Carrollton, Dallas County, Texas. Samuel K. Dennis and A. R. Milloway are given as knowledgable of the facts of birth. James' parents are listed as Alfred Fredrick Dennis of Farmers Branch, Texas age 29, a farmer born in Tennessee. His mother is Hattie E Patterson of Farmers Branch, Texas, housewife, age 27 and born in Tennessee.
"Runt" as my grandfather was called by everyone including my grandmother,was born in Dallas where he lived until about the age of three when his mother died in childbirth with her fourth child. "Tutt" took his three young children back to Tennessee where he married his second wife (niece of his first wife). Grandaddy left his unhappy home as soon as he was old enough and came back to Texas.
James Hollis Dennis Private of Sixteenth Company, Onehundred Sixty Second Depot Brigade, U.S. Army was inducted on the twenty fourth of June 1918 at Celina, Texas to serve for the period of the emergency and was honorably discharged the fourteenth of February 1919. He also served in the Battery E. 52nd Field Artillery. Many of the men in Granddaddy's company came down with influenza just before they were to be sent overseas during WW I. The war ended prior to their leaving.I have a copy of the marriage certificate for J. H. Dennis and Miss Hallie Butler dated September 9, 1924, Dallas Texas by T. H. Alexander Justice of the Peace, returned and filed Sept. 13, 1924. The original is in the possession of Sue Dennis Hayes, daughter of James and Hallie. They were living in Coppell Texas at the time of their first child's birth and death.

James and Hallie are buried in the Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, Denton County, Texas.
Hallie was born in TN but came to TX with her family about 1901. They moved to OK for a while then to Dallas. Hallie married and stayed in Dallas. Her parents and two of her sisters moved to Ada OK where they remained.
Hallie Butler is buried in the Furneaux Cemetery in Carrollton, Dallas County, Texas.
Jack Dennis was the first child of James Hollis Dennis and Hallie Butler Dennis. Hallie's father was Jack Butler. He is buried in the Keenan Cemetery in Farmers Branch TX. Lot 42, section VI. There is no marker for him but his sister Nora Belle was buried in the same grave and she has a marker. (This according to cemetery records). Jack's neck was broken at the time of his birth during a delivery at home. His death certificate is stamped still born and contributing secondary factor is cerebral hemorage. No name is given on his death certificate just infant of J.H. Dennis.
Burial marker of "Nora Belle Dennis, Dec. 24, 1927 - May 6, 1931". She is buried in the Keenan Cemetery, Farmers Branch, Texas. She died of scarlet fever.
