Wiley PATTERSON

Wiley Patterson married Drucinda Davis in Surry Co. NC 1825 (found in ancestry.com North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868).

The 1850 Surry Co. NC census (North Div) page 291 has Wiley and family. Names and approximate birth years of children are from this census. On page 292 is brother Julius. Wiley names a son Jesse. I find a Jesse Patterson age 69 on page 248 of this census S. Div.

The 1860 Snatchville, Surry Co. NC census (Siloam PO) page 271 has Wiley age 60, Lucinda age 55, Martin age 27, Mary age 17, Josephine age 14 and Jesse age 21. All were born in NC. Wiley is a farmer with $1300 of real estate and $430 of personal property. Martin's occupation is farm laborer.

Brother Julius A. Patterson names a son Wiley E. Patterson.

James Bailey HACKNEY

James Bailey Hackney served in the United States Army during World War IIas a private in Battery D, 7th Coast Artillery (HD).  He was a 2nd ClassGunner.  He was enlisted November 30, 1942 at Fort Bragg, NorthCarolina.  Because he was over 39 years of age, he was discharged March10, 1943 at Fort Tilden, NY to work in civilian defense work back inNorth Carolina.
