Earl "Wimpy" Ray Brown, age 68, died early Wednesday morning Jan. 29, 2003 at the Uintah Basin Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on April 20, 1934 in Salt Lake City to Jesse and Catherine Fulmer Brown. He was raised in Jensen by his mother and step-father George Ainge. He married Ann Murray, they later divorced. Earl married Wanda Meeks Oct. 23, 1957 in Craig, Colo., it was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Oct. 23, 1997. He was a professional truck driver for 45 years, and was a master mechanic. He loved flowers and his family. He was nicknamed "Wimpy" because he loved hamburgers. Earl was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by all. Earl is survived by his wife, Wanda Brown; children, Don Brown, Troy (Abbi) Brown, Elizabeth (Allen) Palmer, Babette (Eddie) Julius and Kirk (Dana) Brown, Sheila Merkley; brothers and sisters, Joan (Bud) Gilroy; Kay Brown; Kelly (LaRae) Brown; Bruce (Terri) Brown; Marvin (Laura) Brown; Jeff (O'Leah) Brown; Extended Family Marion (Barbara) Meeks, Carol (Don) Treese, Asa (Heidi) Meeks, and Doug (Marty) Meeks; 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Gary. Funeral Services were held Feb. 1 in the Jensen LDS ward Chapel. Burial in the Jensen Cemetery, under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
