Death of a Good Citizen

It is with profound sorrow and regret we are called upon this week to report the death Monday morning, April 14, 1913 of "Uncle Jim" French, one of our best know and beloved citizens, aged forty-four years.

"Uncle Jim" had been a patient sufferer with a disorder of the stomach for more than a year, to which his death is directly attributed.  More than twenty years since he made his profession of religion, identifying himself with the Methodist Church, and the life afterwards lived and deeds performed is best evidence of his loyalty to the faith he professed.  As a friend, citizen and neighbor he was honored and respected by all.

He was the father of fourteen children, eleven of whom the heat broken wife and mother survive.  May God's blessing be upon them and comfort them in their bereavement.

Funeral services and interment took place at the cemetery at Bee Branch, Thursday.  May his ashes rest in peace until God shall bid him rise form the dead to die no more.
