Alphonso Henry (also called Fonch) was living in Jewel, Vicksburg Co., Kansas, in 1880 (according to a hand written note).
He was born in Kane Co., Illinois, 1951
Alphonso and his wife, Sarah, lived in Bennington, Ottawa Co., Kansas, in 1900.
In the 1900 Census six children were living with Alphonso:
1. Albert Leon, born 1870 or 71 Illinois
2. Rosa, born 1871 or 72 Illinois
3. Samuel, born 1874 or 75 Illinois
4. Abraham, born 1877 - 78 Illinois
5. Carie, born 1880 Illinois
6. Edith M. Henry, born December 1892, Kans., Her father was born in Illinois and
her mother was born in Kansas. She is a niece of Alphonso's and was also living
with him in 1910. ( I always wondered if she could be Dewitt's daughter. I know all the kids from his siblings but this Edith is
my big mystery and doesn't belong anywhere. She married someone named Clyde Smith and I saw that when her high school class of 1910 had a reunion in
1970, she was dead. I haven't found anything on her yet but I am hoping.)
The 1930 Census says that Alphonso was living with his oldest son, Albert Leon in Bennington City.

Abraham Henry was Born in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, Nov 19, 1819. His wife Rachel Jones, who was Born in Berke County, Pennsylvania, January 25, 1830, daughter of Isaac and Ester Neff Jones. They were married in Pennsylvania(actually married in Kane County, Illinois) A short time later they, together with members of their family and other friends moved to Kane County, Illinois USA. They Settle on farm ther and raised grain, which they hauled to Chicago, a small milling town on the edge of a swamp.
