James Moseley GORDON

Volunteered 10 Aug 1861 when he was 36 and made Sargeant that day.  Taken prisoner at Roanoke Island, NC, 8 Feb 1862, he was paroled 21 Feb 1862.  Taken prisoner again around Washington, DC< 13 Jun 1864, he was a POW at Elmire, NY. he was sent to James River, VA, 2 Mar 1865.  On 7 Mar 1865 he entered a Richmond hospital and received a 30- day furlough 9 Mar 1865.

Volunteered 5 Jun 1861...No record after Feb 1865...He died shortly after returning home....
