John C. LAFFOON

Was a barkeeper at Dobson in 1860......Entered service at Wak NC 1 Nov 1863 when he was 31.  Suffered a wound in the shoulder and taken prisoner at  Fort Stedman, VA, 25 Maar 1865.  POW at sPoint Lookout, MD.. Took Oath of Allegiance 29 Jun 1865,


Joseph GORDON

A school teacher....Volunteered at Surry 10 Aug 1861 and was elected 2nd Lieutenant that day.  He was 32.  He was taken prisoner at Roanoke Island, NC, 8 Feb 1862 and paroled at Elizabeth city, NC, 21 Feb 1862.  He resigned 10 Feb 1863 with a certified disability.
