Dru operated a restaurant for many years.  It was located for a while on main street where Penny's store is now located, but for a longer time on Franklin St. where Sparger Insurance Agency is now.


Victory Alice LEWIS

Alice came to Surry Co. when she was two years old..Her mothe had died in childbirth leaving her and her borther Harden.


Thomas Rabon HODGE-S

Volunteered 12 Apr 1862 and was mustered into service 30 Apr 1862 at Camp Mangum, Raleigh, NC.  Discharged 24 May 1862 because of conscript act, he later joined Co C 21 REG NC when he was 40 and was inducted 14 Nov 1863.  He died two moths later 23 Jan 1864 of fever at Orange Court House, VA.
