Lancelot GRANGER

   Lancelot was born in the west of England and when a lad of 12 or 14, he was stolen from his mother, his father being dead, and brought to Plymouth, MA, where he was sold (apprenticed) to serve two years for his passage.  he had served on the ship as cabin boy. When he was living in Ipseich, he courted and married the daughter of a Puritan, an Elder in the church, a man of position and means.  Lancelot himself was never a member of the church at Newbury.  He was a thick-set man able to defend himself
