Ruel (Rural) ADKIN-ATKIN(S)

Ruel entered service in the CSA with his brother, Pascal, at Knoxville, TN 1 Aug 1861 and was placed  in Burroughs Battery of TN Artillery...... He worked at the forge and later went to the lead mines in Wytheville along with his brother Pascal.  He served in Burrus Art of thes VA Army and was wounded.   He received a pension.  After his marriage they lived in Stokes in the King area for awhile.  It is said that Ruel lived to be 106 years old


Wilson FULK

   HISTORY: Surry County Heritage:  The Fulk Family  No. 242
Wilson Fulk who was born in 1826 and died in 1896 was the fourth son of Jacob
Fulk.  He married Mary Taylor Flippin whose family had moved to NC from
Pittsylvania County, Virginia.  There were eleven children born from this
marriage.

Charles W. DAVIS

Was the fire chief and building inspector in Mt.Airy in 1914.  He was in the heating and plumbing business.
