Haymore Family Cem. is on the former homestead of Daniel Haymore, Jr. Near juction of Reeves Mill Road and Massey Road. Mt. Airy, Surry, NC. Alfred and Lamecia built a home on the corner of Reeves Mill Rd. and Glass Rd. in about 1877. The house is still standing.....
In 1860, was farming in the Mt. Airy District of Surry, NC.....He was enrolled in the 5th Senior Reserves at Surry 16 July 1864 when he was 45. His description was 5' 10" tall, fair complexion, dark hair, and blue eyes....He was elected Captain of a company 11 Jul 1864. The company was designated as Cpt. Short's Company, Reserve Force E Stowe's Battalion NC Senior Reserves. The 5th Reg. of NC Senior Reserves was formed 5 Dec 1864 by the addition of 3 unattached companies to Stowe's Battalion NC Reserves.
