Jonathan (Twin) SHINN

                        Will of Jonathan Shinn
    I - Jonatahn Shinn of the County of Harrison and State of Virginia being in full possession and regular exercise of my mental faculties do make and ordain my last Will and Testament.
    After my Just Debets and Funeral expenses are discharged I give devise and dispose of the wordly estate with which God hath been pleased to bless me in the following manner and to Wit.
    First I give and bequeath to my son Levi Shinn one dollar to be levied otu of my estate besides what he has before received.
    Secondly, I give and bequeath to my son Asa Shinn one dollar to be levied out of my esteate besides what he before received.
    Thirdly, I give and bequeath to my daughters Elizabeth, Hannah, Sarah and Ruth, all my money and movable property that may remain tobe divided equally among them at the decease of Sarah my wife in case she should survive me otherwise at my decease.
    Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son Asa Shinn my plantation on which I reside and he is to pay a Legacy of twenty dollars to be divided equally among my four daughters, Elizabeth, Hannah, Sarah and Ruth.
    Fifthly, I give and bequeath unto Sarah my beloved wife all my lands, buildings and possessions by her freely to be enujoyed during life.  My son Amasa Shinn is to maintain her to her satisfaction during her life and in case he does so is to have the full use and benefit of the plantation during her life, otherwise she may deprive him of  hte use of it until her decease.
    Likewise appoint my three sons, Levi Shinn, Asa Shinn and Amasa Shinn to be the sole executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby disallow and disannule all and every former testaments Wills, legacies and bequests confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament.  In witness whereof I have hereunto (sic) set my hand and seal this day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventeen, 1817.

This Will does not mention the fifth daughter, Ann Shinn, who married Daniel Whiteman.  It is preseumed that Ann Shinn Whiteman died withoiut leaving an heir.
