Entered service 15 Sep 1862 and was sworn in at Wake Coo. nC.  He was taken prisoner  at Kelly's Ford VA 7 Nov 1863.  He was a POW at Point Lookout, MB, where he died 31 Jul 1864.

William A. SIMMONS

1850 census also shows a Mary CHINALT 43 years old, born in NC and a Mary SIMMONS 40yrs old, born in VA living in the household.
