Rich cemetery is located one mile west of the Deer-Wayton road in the Mineral Springs Community
Community (sec 12 twp 14n R 22 W)buried in are the spouses , sons and daughters of Harvey Doke Rich and William Harvey Rich.

William and Annie's older children went to Mineral Springs to school, until it was consolidated to Deer. Hester, Zerl, Ervin and Priscilla went to Deer. They waited for the bus at Susie Hicks' house and dried their wet shoes by her fireplace. Then they rode either a bus or pick-up truck to school. Myrtle Sutton was Priscilla's first teacher. William Henderson was one of the last. Priscilla graduated from Deer High School in 1945. Priscilla cherishes the memory of growing up on the mountain. Her family always supported each other and still do. Her parents would take the children to brush-harbor meetings in the summer time. They would travel for miles to church, or to visit relatives by wagon. They all pitches in and helped make the living, by digging roots, gathering berries, you name it, and they were pretty good at it. They also made baskets and chairs, and they worked for other people for 50 cents a day. Hard times yes! But they remember the little house in the pines, there on top of the mountain as the best.

William Harvey Rich was a retired farmer, and was a member of the Baptist Church of Deer, Arkansas. He was a resident of Springdale, AR three years before he passed away. His funeral service was held at the Deer Baptist Church, with Robert Henderson officiating. He was buried in the Rich Cemetery on the "old home place" near Wayton.
The Harvey Doke Rich family migrated to Newton Co. AR and homesteaded at Wayton, AR, near Deer in 1895. Marcia Branstetter related a story to me told to her by Dora Hampton and Flora Henson (first cousins of mine, daughters of Maggie Rich Hall). They told her that Grandfather Rich went back to Missouri on a horse to get the fruit trees for his Arkansas farm.
Harvey Rich, son of William Havey Rich told me that Aunt Minnie Highley, (Harvey Doke's daughter by his first wife) and her sons, including Angus Highley visited the Harvey Doke Rich family in Newton County, dates unknown. They traveled by freight train from Salem MO to Harrison AR, then probably traveled by coach to Newton County.
On page 74 of Arkansas Land Patents, Newton County is the following information about Harvey Doke's homestead.
