Randall died at the age of 81, at the Lost Rivers Hospital Nursing Home, after an extended illness. He was born at Moreland, Bingham, ID. The family moved to Antelope Creek, near Darlington, where he attended schools at Blackfoot, and then at Antelope Creek & Moore. Randall was a large man.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946. He married a Belnap, who died shortly after. He was devastated by her death. He later married Patsy Lord and they raised 7 children in the log house, at Grouse.
They continued to ranch on Antelope Creek until 1970, at which time he and his brother, Lynn, divided the land.
He was a member of the Antelope Creek Cattleman's Association and a member of the Methodist Church.
Memorial Services were held Monday, 11 A.M., at the Valley Bible Church in Arco. Pastor Keith Brock officiated. Randall was survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. It mentions that 2 aunts survived him, Katherine Taylor and Vi Douglas. His 2 brothers and 1 sister preceded him in death.He was cremated by Marvel Memorial Chapel. A couple of his sons' scattered his ashes on a hill above their old log house, at Grouse. David said that he and Randy (or Paul?), dressed up as warm as they could, one evening, and took a bottle with them. They rode their horses, taking Randall's ashes with them, to the top of the hill. They would spinkle a little of Randall, take a drink and tip a little to their dad, and ride a little furthor, repeating the process. David said he was never so drunk in his life! BUT, they got the job done. When their mother died, they repeated the whole process, and erected a beautiful monument at the top of the hill. Their parents would be proud.
Patsy was a large woman, with a heart as big as life. She left a big hole in our lives, as she was a caring, considerate and loving individual.
