23 Dec 1932 Marriage Records at Mississippi Co., Rec pg. 327 bk XA Story about my Father, Homer Byron Underwood As told to Kim Kester by Jewel Neel My Dad was a Carpenter, a Farmer, and a Muscian. He sang in a quartet for Churches and County Parties. He made duck boats and carved duck calls something that was passed down from generation to generation.
He was a great hunter and fisherman, and would work as a logger during the winters. He did quite abit of different things, but he had to, to make a living for all of his children. I may sound like I'm bragging about him, and maybe I am. Back in those days there was no such thing as welfare, an I can't remember doing without the things that we needed.
I don't remember too many stories that he told us, because he didn't have time to tell us stories, he was always working hard to make us a living. He was one hell of a guy, my Father, Homer Byron Underwood.
Buried at Box Elder Cem., Leachville, AK.
