Owned the land where Ft. Hoskins stood. Had bought the land from the US after it had been decommisioned and dismantled the fort using materials for barns and house, etc. There is today a reconstruction of that fort as it has been bought by the county and used as a park and restoration project to honor the history. The fort had been constructed originally to protect the Indians from intrusion of the white settlers to keep peace.
