Elsie had 20 to 30 grandchildren and about the same amount of great-grandchildren.  Chuck "Butch" Steele phones in 1995 with the news of Elsie's death.  He's her nephew.  He's exactly 30 years younger than Paul Baker (49 - 79), 3 years younger than Charlene, his sister.  Pearl 73.

              JOSEPH PETER LUCIER

Burial:  30 Nov. 1918, Frenchtown, Missoula, Montana
         Cause of Death:  Bronchial pneumonia

Myrtle C. WOOD

Myrtle was married twice.  There were no children born into either marriage.  She died with lobar pneumonia.  She died at the age of 32 Years, 2 months.  Her Dr. was George E. Armon, MD.  We stopped at Sidney, MT. at the court house and picked up the death record for Myrtle and her 2nd husband, Herbert Joseph Bell.

I took a trip to Lambert, MT.  and visited the cemeteries on August 18, 2000. The town of Lambert is a very small town, about the size of Jordon Valley, Oregon.  We stopped at the CQ Bar on main street and asked where the cemetery was located.  We searched and searched, but could find no Bells.  The Lady who ran the bar, ran across the street and talked to the man at the Post Office, who digs the graves.  He said to check the Catholic Cemetery.  We found her at the far end, against the back fence, with the name of Myrtle C. Bell.  We took some pictures.  Also, a tall stone with BELL on it and furthor down the hill was some more Bell graves.

January's right eye was glass.  He liked good liquer.  He couldn't write.  He signed his citizenship papers with an "X".  We've been told he was left-handed, also.  Janvier was named for the
French month of January, because he was born on January 1st.  It became a tradition that was handed down in the family, and several more have that name of either January or Janvier.

Some information was gleaned from Shirley Lucier Heudier, and Henry Lucier, both descendants of January.  Also, through some information from Amy Wood Lucier Carlson in Selah, WA.  Janvier was christened on 2 Jan 1836, at St. Edouard, Napierville, Quebec, Canada.

A lot of information was gather from microfilms taken of the actual records kept at the
Church of the Immaculate Conception of Paincourt, Kent, Ontario, Canada. (Which include several children that we weren't aware of.)

The 1st born child was named Fridiric, born to Janvier Lucier and Julie Lucier. He was christened on 1 Oct 1861, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Paincourt, Kent, Ontario, Canada.  His sponsors are Basile Lucier and Marianne Migni.  After further research, it is more than likely that Marianne was Janvier's mother and Basile was Julie's father. Yes, Julie's maiden name was Lucier, also!

Arthur was only 7 years of age when he died.  His father had remarried after Arthur's mother, Julie, had passed away.  Arthur was baptized 16 Feb 1868, and his sponsors were Arthur Massi and Agnes Lussier.  Arthur died 21 Apr 1875 at Paincourt, just after his new step-brother, Elie Wilfred, was born on 8 Apr 1875.

Marie Anne MINI-MEGNI

Marie Anne (Marianne) was buried at St. Edouard Cemetery on 9 Jan 1888. We used to think her maiden name was Mini.  It has been spelled many ways, but found on her grandsons birth as Migni.
(Migny, Meny, Mesny, Mesney, Megny, etc.)
