1801. This Christopher Higgs was burried 13 Mar 1837 at Laindon. Christopher
Hicks death certif from Brit Civil Reg gives a death date as 09 Mar 1837 in
Little Bursted. Both men were listed as 62 Yrs of age. Check into this further to see if they are the same man. DID NOT find a marr entry for
Christopher Hicks and Susan Joyce. Her name may have Susan Elizabeth?
Look for a Death entry in Brit Vital Statistics for Christopher
Higgs. If none is found in 1st Qtr 1837,proceed on theory they are the same
individual. Then look for birth entries of children of Elizabeth & Christopher Higgs. They had children who were burried in Laindon Par Reg FHL film #1472455Find particulars on Higgs & get Ordinances done for them on chance they are
right people. the children need to be sealed to them.

43rd Regiment, US ArmyEnoch served in Captain Robert Love's Company, 43rd US Infantry, during the
War of 1812. He enlisted November 20, 1813 and was honorably discharged
on August 1, 1815. Enoch wrote in his pension application that he enlisted near Asheville, NC, then marched to Raleigh then Fayetteville, NC. He went by
boat to Wilmington, then on to Federal Point and Smithville. He engaged in
building a fort at Federal Point in 1814 and guarded the mouth of the Cape
Fear River. He drew a federal pension for his service and his widow drew a
widow's pension after his death.Enoch's wife was Mary Long and his father was William Wedgbare
Underwood. Enoch's daughter, Martha Ann Underwood, married Thornton
Bradley. Thornton's pension record is also posted on the Fannin County web
site.Enoch was born about 1798, probably in Wilkes County, NC. He died July 20,
1878 in Fannin County and is buried at Tilley Baptist Church Cemetery, also in Fannin County, GA. Both Enoch and Polly are buried in Tilley Cemetery on Toccoa River in Fannin Co., GA. Was a farmer, Baptist by Faith.

in 1820, John Bryson, Andy Cathey, Oliver Painter, Peter Long, Thomas
Henson, Manson Shuler, Hugh Bryson, Silas Watson, William Watson and
Enoch Underwood organized a subscribtion school near Cullowhee to
guarantee the salary of teacher Zeke Shuler who had been hired to teach
their 16 sons and daughters in the small log house owed by Maj. Hamilton
Bryson. Enoch, Mary and Elizabeth are listed in the Fannin Co. GA 1860
census, ages 62, 60, and 18. Born in NC, NC, and GA. Value of real
estate and personal property is $300 and $150. Enoch is listed in the
1870 Fannin Co. census, 73, wheel wright, Brn NC; Mary, 73, Keeping
house, brn NC; Elizabeth, 27, work on farm, brn NC; John, 7, at home, Brn
TN; Byers, 3, brn GA; Enoch, brn Jan 1870, GA.
