Charles Clinton STULL

Grandma Teeter - Hiatt claims Elizabeth had her son Clinton by a man she was working for and gave him his surname.  Other indications are that Stull was her maiden name.
Last known whereabout I have is from a picture taken about 1900 in Fall City, Neb.  He was in Morrill, Kansas for at least some time.  He may have gone to Omaha later.
Bonnie Everhart wrote in Sept. 1992, "My mother wrote, after talking with Uncle Clay, that says Clint Stull worked in a hardware store in Morrill before moving to Calif.

Found in the 1910 Brown Co., Kansas 29 April 1910
Clinton could read and write, he owned his own grocery store and home.
#156.  Stull Clinton C. age 44 marr 22 yrs b. Ill parents both born Penn.
Wife Sadie M. age 40 marr 22 yrs b. Ill both parents born Penn.
Hamilton Township 15 June 1900 , #187 Stull Clinton C. Born Aug 1864 age 35, married 12 years. Born Ill, Father Vermont, Mother Penn. Wife Sarah M. born Feb 1870 age 30 born Ill, father and mother Penn.
George Stull, cousin, born Nov 1881 age 18, born Ill., father born Penn, mother Ill.
1870 Census, Pine Creek, Ogle Co., Ill #72
    Found living with Grandfather, Henry.

Pine Creek, Ogle Co., Ill. 1880 Census
Charles Clinton, nephew, living with Jacob Stull  age 15, born in Ill.  Father was born in Ill. Mother in Penn.

I believe that Clinton Charles was actually Charles Clinton, the nephew who was living with his uncle Jacob in 1880 census.   He appears then to have taken the name of Stull, so changed his name to Clinton Charles Stull.

Aug. 24, 1992 I received a package of material from Morrill, Kansas City offices which provided, in part, an obituary on  Clint Stull.

DEATHS    CLINTION STULL (Charles CLINTON STULL)

Stull - C.C. Stull died, Sunday, Nov. 18, 1945, in a hospital at South Gate, Calif. He had not been well since last April.  The Stulls were former residents of Hiawatha, were members of the Presbyterian church where Mr. Stull served as deacon, Sunday school teacher for many years.  He was a member of the Hiawatha I.O.O.F. lodge, wore the emblem proudly.  Mr. Stull had his church letter placed in his Baptist Wilshire church at Los Angelos, Calif. near his home several years ago when the family moved to California.  He was chairman of the Brown county picnics held annually in California.  Many old friends met, acquaintances were renewed at those gatherings.  He enjoyed making others happy, will be greatly missed by family, friends.  Mrs. Stull died Aug. 31, 1943, was buried at Inglewood cemetery in Ingelwood, Calif., where Mr. Stull will also be interred.  Had Mrs. Stull lived 18 more days, the couple would have observed their 55th wedding aniversary at that time.  Mr. Stull was born Aug. 3, 1864, at Grandeton, Ill.  He is survived by two children, other relatives, friends.  His son, Ray Stull, lives at 65 Wilshire Drive, Phoenix, Ariz.  His daughter, Mrs. A. Biggs, lives at 223 E. Mountainview, Long Beach, Calif.  She was at her father's bedside constantly during his last illness.  Many relatives, friends in this community extend sympathy to the son, daughter in their bereavement.

Raymond R. STULL

In a picture taken at Fall City, Ne., by F.H. Brown, taken about 1900, Ray looks about 5 or 6 years old, his sister Pearl looks about 2 or 3, and is a striking image of my own children at about that age.
Raymond R. working at a drug store as a saleman in the 1910 Census Brown Co., Kansas.
When his father died in 1945, he was living at 65 Wilshire Drive, Phoenix, Ariz.  No further information on him at this time.

Probably a wife to one of children of Eli, the father of John Wolfkill, who would have been the step father to Albert Burger, or perhaps a cousins wife.
