HENRY O. TIPTON" the death of Henry Tipton earlier this month marked the passing of one of the most respected, beloved and well-known citizens of our community. Henry was a quite, affable, non-pretentious man, and his was a life filled with significant service to the area. From the window of his business place, where he was a pharmacist for many years, he watched a great Change take place in the town; the old court house and other buildings go down, and new ones rise in their places...But Henry was not a passive observer of all this-he was always to be found at the forefront of every movement for the betterment of his native city and region. He served in an official capacity on several worthwhile projects.
"Henry Tipton died at the age of 53. But there can be so no greater compensation than the knowledge that a man is kindly remembered by those neighbors with whose he sent his life. As the son of the late Dr. J. T. Tipton, he was the distinguished son of a distinguished piomeer physician. He was an institution of our town, and it will not be the same without him."
