Harry D. TIPTON

    From Hearst's Sunday American, dated September 27, 1925

    Mr. Tipton was born in England. He arrived in America as a youth, and in college days in Kansas he became under the influence of Prof. Schuyler, of Algebra Fame.
   " You are a good math ematician" often the Prof. would say to young Tipton "be an Auditor my boy you are well equipped for the profession of booking".
    Later, it was after auditing the books of several bakeries and becoming an exective in two syndicates that Mr. Tipton laid the foundation of the Southern Baking Company a $20,000,000, Mr. Tipton was the President of the concern.
    During the first World War when Herbert Hoover was Food Administrator, he chose Harry Tipton as his chief advisor on all baking matters.
   He was born in 1876 in Herefordshire, England, in a hilly country on the border of Wales. He was 20 years of age when he came to America to visit his uncle.
