Golden Wedding Anniversary
Open HouseOne hundred and twenty friends and relatives helped Mr. and Mrs. Everett Tipton, Afton route 1, celebrate their golden wedding anniversary last Sunday at their home.
The couple was married Dec. 4, 1916 at Vinita. They are the parent of eight children all of whom were present for the anniversary.
Open house was held from 2 to 5 p.m. After the couple cut a large cake, refreshments were served to all. Mrs. Reuben R. Tipton and Mrs. George W. Tipton , sister in law poured.
The Children and their familied were present and were: Mr. and Mrs. Virgil E. Tipton, Jr., and children, Ann Ellen, Virgil III, James and Timothy, Springfield, Illinois.; Mr. and Mrs. William B. Tipton and sons, Ronald and gary; Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Tipton and son Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben R. Tipton and daughter Sherri, And Mr. And Mrs. James Dillingham and sons, David Jr. and Darryl, all of Afton; Mr. and Mrs James D. Tipton and sons, Steven and Kevin, Oklahoma, City; Mr. and Mrs. John L. Mills and sons, John Jr. and Randy of Miami; and Mr. and Mrs. George W. Tipton and children George III, Micheal and Dora Fern, of Tahlequah.
On Grandson, Edward of Afton, was unable to be present because of sickness in his family.
Other relatives attending were, Mr and Mrs James Tipton of Niota, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Legg, Woodward; Nancy Woodall, Maxine Gulver, and Dovie Thomlinson of Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Charles woodall and daughterJeanie, Vinita; Mr and Mrs. John Tipton and daughter Glenda, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Crosby, Mr. and Mrs. Loil Tipton and Mrs. Josey Kalus, all of Fairland. Mr and Mrs. Alvin Krumrey, Mrs. Maggie Tipton, Mrs Linda Orcut, all of Miami; and Mr. and Mrs Elmer Oakley of Afton.
