Mr. Tipton is one of the pioneer bulders of the modern city of Kingsprot, Tennessee which including its suburbs, has a population of thirty-five thousand people and asn annual payroll of more than $15,000,000.
   He is a director of the First National Bank, and Vice President of the Kingsport Federal Building and Loan Ass'n.
    Served as Alderman of the city of Kingsport for six years and Mayor for two years .
     He is the director of Kingsport Broard Casting Company, director of Kingsport Publishing Company.
    Served eight years as member, Kingsport Public Ligraru Board; member Kingsport Kiwanis Club and served as its first President in 1924.
    He is a Deacon of the First Prebyterian Church of Kingsport, Tennessee.
