The old log house was used as a bran. the farm was sold and the family moved to Lathrop, Missouri in 1899.

    Orvan attended school at Lathrop from the first through 12th. grades, he was a member of the High School graduating class 1911 and worked as a bookeeper at the Lathrop Bank for a little over a year. then moved to California to engage in the Auto business. In 1944 he helped build a race car and followed that and auto business until after W. W. I. He was a member of the original crew that started the Naval Air Station in San Diego in Oct, 1917.

   He married Lucille Bell of Lincoin, N. E. on Nov 24, 1919. They have two children, Both are electronic engineers and living in Orange County, California.

    Glenn took a teacher training course at the University of California, Southern branch (now U. C. L. A.) in 1923 and taught in the high school in Long Beach, california for 6 years when he gave up teaching for farming which he followed until retiring with the exception of the last 4 years (1955-1959) when he worked as an electronic technician.


Charles Ernest WALKER

Born on the Riley Walker farm, he attended Pleasant Grove School. With the exception of a short time in the 1890's when he owned a restaurant and lunch counter in Burling, Kansas, he lived continuously on the "home place" until Apr 19, 1916.

   He build a small house and barn on 40 acres of land that his father had given him about 1894. Where he lived with his wife after his marriage to Sadie Tillett in 1895. She died about 1900 after which Charles farmed his land and his brother. Dayton's 40 arces. Which jointed him on the east. Dayton had moved to Oklahoma. He also ran part of his father's farm and took over the opertaion of the entire place after the death of his father in 1901.


Amy Leina SILVIUS

She was born near Dandrige, Tennessee and moved with her parents to Plattsburg, Missouri at age 3. They had 3 children all born on the Riley Walker Farm. They sold the home place in 1916 and brought the Potter hardware store at Turney, Missouri later disposing of that and brought farm property near Cameron, Missouri. In the spring, 1921 he sold this and moved to Gleichen, Alberta, Canada, where he brought a half section of farm land. His wife was in a rest home at the time of this writing.
