Recently Dorothy and I visited the Randolph Co. Historical Society in WInshester, Indiana seeking information of the Hiatt, Montgomery, and Cook families. Dorothy is related to the Hiatts thru Anna Hiatt Unthank (1801-1881), daughter of Benajah Hiatt (1773-1847) and Elizabeth White (1770-1862) and through Ruth Hiatt Dicks (1735-), daughter of George Hiatt (1698-1793) and Martha Wakefield (c1700-1862). I am related to the Hiatts through Sarah Hiatt Montgomery (1804-1894), daughter of John Hiatt (1778-1830) and Rachel Gladon (1786-1844) and through the Frazier family. I am interested in purchasing a copy of the Hiatt-Hiett Family Genealogy and Family History, 1699-1949 by William Perry Johnson. Please let me know if you know how that might be done.
I am also interested in information about William Montgomery (1799-1892) husband of Sarah Hiatt. William and Sarah were the parents of Elizabeth Ann Montgomery (1838-1901). Elizabeth married Jacob Christman Cook (1829-1874) and were the parents of William U. Cook (1873-1934), my grandfather. Any information you might have on the Montgomerys and Cooks is appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration
Sincerely, Edwin E. Hinshaw (signed)1850 Census: Greensfork, Randolph Co., Indiana
