Just recently I started researching my wife’s family. She is descended from Isom Hiatt married to Mary Erwin/Irwin, then son William married to Rebecca Williams, their daughter Almedia married to Thomas Stewart, their son Joel Stewart to Wilhelmina Braasch, their daughter Bernice Stewart to Delbert Barber who had my wife.We have a Bible that was in possession of William and Rebecca Hiatt. It identifies William’s parents as Isom and Mary Hiatt. Identifes Rebecca’s parents as John and Mary Williams. I have not seen the LDS records yet, but marriage dates in Bible match what I am seeing on the LDS web site.
I am amazed at the amount of Hiatt information on-line. You appear to be very involved with the Hiatt research. What resources do you have that we might have or purchase? I would love to have digital images of the Quaker records pertaining to my wife’s family. Do you have these? Are they on LDS microfilm?
I have the William Hiatt and Rebecca Williams family pretty well filled out if this would be of interest to you. Two of the sons died in Civil War. Two of the daughters married two Stewart brothers. These two Hiatt daughters along with a third and her husband homesteaded in York County, Nebraska in 1869. About 3 weeks ago we went there, found the land records at the court house and then visited the homestead properties! We just discovered a third cousin of my wife in York County (Hiatt is the common ancestor) and will be meeting her in near future. That contact should yield more names in the recent generations. She knows nothing of the Hiatt ancestry.
We have some old photos and newspaper obituary in addition to the Bible.
