OCCU Grain and Stock Raiser
Charles C. Tipton Cemetery located TWP 3 s, Range 3 E section 28 on Clear Creek. This land purchased from US Land Office 11 Aug 1855 by Charles C. Tipton .
Information can be found in the book "Paint Rock Pioneers".
Soon after he married he moved over into Jackson County, Alabama where by shrewdness industry and economy, he acquired a fine estate and became a very noted man in his day, not in deeds of war but as a philanthropist.
He was a large grain and stock raiser, and kept stored at his home great quantities of meat, grain and field seeds, and people for many miles came to him for the necessities of life and never left empty handed whether they went to buy or beg.
He and his two oldest sons built two small shops wherein they made everything that was needed, either for the home or on the farm; Plows, tools, edges tools, furniture, harness, shoes of both iron and leather, for man and beast; also spectacles and jewelry; but they supplied only their neighbors and shipped nothing.
