Mr Tipton was a kind gentle and hospitable, but determinded and insistant for what he thought was right.
While Court was in being held, it was often the case That there would be witnesses and jurymen who had no way of getting to their homes and back again next day for their necessary appearance at Court.
I have have seen Mr. Tipton stand in front of the Court House and ask  the men about getting home and he would see that everyone was taken care of.
This was not his duty; just one of his kindly Acts in looking after his people.
He was killed while discharging his duties as an officer of the law.
