Below are comments added by N. Dama Fordram
Benjamin J. raised his family on this property as did his son Jess. I believe it is still in possession of the Jess Tipton family. They were living there when we visited Tenn in 1934. The will does tell us that our listing of the children is correct and that Matilda J. and Martha Caroline were dead already in 1896. Martha C was left to Sam Wiley Randles. Samuel had two brothers possibly they were deceased.
He does not give the names of Matilda J. heirs and we do not have them at this time. I was interested to note that in leaving the coverlets he called the "clay rose draft,"so now the coverlet has a pattern name. These coverlets were made by carding the wool, spinning and dying the thread and weaving. John and Susan had two of them, made by their mothers. They were the same pattern and one was a pale red and the other a deep blue. I assume the red one was from the Tipton family and the blue from the Johnson. Viola Johnson Bigbee has one from the Johnson family and it is blue. These are lindsy - woolsy- My dau has the blue one from my family. I do not know if Elizabeth stayed on the farm until she died or not. There will always be something else to track down. I never heard Grandpa mention her. He mostly talked about Aunt Emaline, Aunt Lou and Uncle Ben.
Never heard him mention Caswell C or Joe Scott, Grandma would mention Doany from time to time, but cannot recall in what connection.Source: Beverly King hand-typed John's will and sent it to me.
