While visiting his mother, Kim, at Hastings, FL, John contracted Acute Ameobic Menningio-Encephalitis and died a couple days later at the medical center in Gainesville, FL. He was 14 years old. He was cremated and his ashes scattered in Key Largo where he had lived on his Beal Grandparent's boat for a year.
