Henry worked in the mining industry most of his life. He suffered from kidney disease and after working many years in South America for Anaconda Copper, he moved to Arizona where he lived until his death.

John Robert was a student in the High school where Lucretia taught. They married shortly after his graduation and John Robert began operating the store at the Cave-in-Rock Corner that was owned by his in-laws, John and Mary Blee.
After a business failure, Mr. Blee purchased a trucking company that John Robert managed for him. This business also failed and John left his wife and four young children and moved to St. Louis, MO where he lived with Helen McConnell. Later he moved to Springfield IL and remarried and had two more children, John and Vickie. He had fathered an illegitimate daughter, Doris Mc Connell, by Helen before marrying Lucretia. He went into the laundromat business and later the television business where he becaume sucessful.
