"Jay Brady
"Negaunee - Jay A. Brady, 68, of 205 E. Peck St., Negaunee, died Saturday at Marquette General Hospital.

"He was born June 21, 1916, in Negaunee and had been a lifelong area resident.

"He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and was a veteran of World War 2, having served in the Army Air Corps.

"Mr. Brady was a graduate of Northern Michigan University and received a master's degree from the University of Michigan.  He was employed by the Republic-Michigamme School District, retiring as principal of the high school in 1974.

"Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a cousin, William Auguston of Sault Ste. Marie; and a number of nieces and nephews.

"Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harvey Hanson officiating.

"Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chester Browned, Allen Jensen, Clifford Laabs, Carl Henstrom and Sydney and Robert Northey.

"Friends may call at the Koskey Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. this evening, and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon.

"Memorial donations can be made to either the Bethany Lutheran Church memorial fund or to a scholarship being established in Mr. Brady's memory at the Republic-Michigamme High School."

"Mildred Anne "Millie" Peterson
"Negaunee -  Mildred Anne "Millie" Peterson, 71, 118 E. Lincoln St. Negaunee died at 7:35 P.M. on Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at her home following a 5 month illness.

"Mildred was born in Ishpeming on July 7, 1927 to Arthur & Gertrude (Gale) Truscott, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1945 and attended Northern Michigan University.  She owned & operated the Unique Shop in Negaunee for several years and worked for the Negaunee Public Schools as a secretary at Lakeview School for 20 years retiring in1991.

"Mrs. Peterson was a member of Mitchell United Methodist Church, Negaunee, was a member of the Negaunee Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Past Matron. She was the president of the Danish Sisterhood Lodge #1 and was a member of the MEA Support Staff.  She was awarded the TV 6 Mother's Day - Mother of the Year Award in 1990. She enjoyed knitting and was a dedicated homemaker who loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

"Surviving are her husband, Edward A. Peterson. They were married June 26, 1948. Also surviving are 3 sons: Larry (Kathleen) Peterson, Negaunee, Thomas (Judy) Peterson, Negaunee, Danny (Christal) Peterson, Marquette, 1 daughter, Christine (Martin) Juidici, Gwinn, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 brothers;  Arthur (Joan) Truscott,Leonard (Carol) Truscott & Donald (Sally) Truscott, all of Ishpeming, William (Betty) Truscott, Marquette, & Terry (Deeann) Truscott, Ishpeming, 2 sisters;  Shirley (Denny) Penland, Chandler, S.C., Margaret (Lloyd) Stebel, Green Bay, WI, numerous nieces & nephews. She waspreceded in death by her parents and 2 infant siblings.

"Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Mitchell United Methodist Church, Negaunee with Rev. Scott Harmon officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be nephew Mike, Robert, & Tim Truscott, Jim Jensen, Brandson Sager, Bill, Brad, & David Johnson. Friends may call at the Koskey Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M. on Friday. Memorials may be directed to Mitchell United Methodist Church or the Lake Superior Hospice Association in Millie's memory."
