"Marquette - Bruce W. Skoog, 40, of 4297 S. Dye Rd., Schwartz Creek, formerly of Marquette, died Saturday in Schwartz Creek."Born Sept. 17 1940 in Marquette, he was graduated from John D. Pierce High School in Marquette in 1958. He was a member of the Hill Road Baptist Church in Schwartz Creek and was employed at General Motorsin Flint in 1966.
"He is survived by his wife, Susan (Harju), whom he married in Marquette; two sons, Eric and Mark of Schwartz Creek; his mother, Mrs. Cora Skoog of Marquette; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline (David) Gutzman, and Mrs. Linda (Gerald) VanBuren, both of Marquette; two brothers, Thomas Skoog and David Skoog, both of Marquette; his grandmother, Mrs. Clara Rich of Marquette; one uncle, Mel Rich of Marquette; and several cousins.
"Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Thorpe officiating. Burial will be in ParkCemetery. Friends may all at the Swanson Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m.Tuesday and Wednesday morning before the services. A memorial service will be held at the Hill Road Baptist Church in Schwartz Creek. Pallbearers will be David Peterson, Lee Steel, Larry Rich, David Gutzman and Gerald Van Buren."
